Foss Wellness Center - PolicyCode of Conduct:
The Foss Wellness Center maintains a Code of Conduct that all participants are required to follow. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a safe, positive and friendly environment for wellness activities. Participants are expected to treat other participants, the Wellness Center staff, the equipment and facility with respect and to adhere to rules and policies included in this document. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations of the Foss Wellness Center may result in suspension or permanent expulsion from the facility. Rules, Policies, Regulations: 1. The Foss Wellness Center is open Monday thru Friday 6:15am – 11pm, Saturday 8am – 8pm, Sunday noon – 11pm. The Foss Wellness Center may change hours over the course of the semester and be closed or have reduced hours during school breaks and holidays. Such closings will be posted. 2. All Foss Wellness Center users are required to use their current University of Jamestown ID Card to sign in each visit. The UJ ID card will unlock the door and allow access to the Wellness Center. First time users are required to complete a registration form after reviewing the PAR-Q physical activity readiness for exercise screening tool and reading and agreeing to the rules and regulations, the rules of conduct, the Informed Consent and Waiver agreements. Orientations will be available for new members. Contact the Wellness Center for times. See Below for forms and Waivers 3. Clean athletic shoes are required when using cardiovascular equipment. Exercise attire is strongly recommended in the fitness room – shirts are required. Do not wear any clothing with buckles, snaps, buttons, etc. as these items on street clothes can pose an injury risk to you and the equipment. No open toed shoes. 4. For your safety and to protect against improper use of equipment, please ask fitness staff for assistance. Fitness staff will be available during posted hours. 5. Personal lockers are available for use by faculty and staff – contact the Wellness Director if interested in a locker. Students may store personal items in the cubbies on the wall. The Fitness Center is not responsible for any theft of personal belongings. 6. For safety, weight lifters will be responsible for re-stacking Olympic and free weights in the appropriate rack after use. DO NOT leave the bars loaded or leave weights lying on the floor. Please do not remove weights from the Free Weight area. (Do not use in the exercise class room) 7. Profanity, abuse of equipment, and un-sportsmanlike conduct is not allowed. 8. Please wipe sweat off equipment after use with the cleaning products provided. 9. Please be courteous if others are waiting for cardiovascular equipment and limit your time accordingly on the machines. 10. No harassing, intimidating or offensive verbal comments or physical behavior will be tolerated. No comments, jokes, innuendoes of a sexual, racial or any other offensive nature will be tolerated by staff or fitness members. Please report any untoward or offensive behavior to the Wellness Director. 11. No food or drinks other than water will be allowed in the Foss Wellness Center. 12. As a courtesy to others, please do not wear strong perfume or cologne to the fitness center many people have allergies to such products. Please be aware of others changing channels on the TV or requesting changes on the radio. 13. If using shower facilities, please plan to be out of the facility by closing time. 14. Personal ipods/mp3s are not to be hooked up to the Foss Stereo System. |
